Origins
What do you get when you start with a thirty-something Wall Street graduate with a vision as big as all outdoors, add in a senior systems developer and veteran portfolio engineer, then toss in an IT rocket scientist, a mathematician, a high-level programmer and artificial intelligence?
You get Pisano Insights, a Vancouver-based technology company.
We welcome you to our website and look forward to sharing our journey with you… our trials and tribulations, as well as our successes.
We hope you enjoy our site and we encourage your interaction, topic suggestions and other feedback.
All viewpoints are welcome, not just those of Pisano.
Note: Posts will be contributed by different members of our team. Viewpoints are their own, and not necessarily those of Pisano.
Choosing Pisano
We derived the name Pisano Insights for our firm from the great Leonardo Fibonacci, also known as Leonardo Bonacci, Leonardo of Pisa and Leonardo Bigollo Pisano. “Count Fibonacci” was a mathematician from Pisa, Italy and the pioneer of the now famous Fibonacci number sequence.
According to Wikipedia he was “considered to be the most talented Western mathematician of the Middle Ages.”
In his honor we were considering naming ourselves “Abcehmu” from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 13th and 21st letters of the English alphabet, but somehow it just didn’t click.
And so… Pisano was born.
We hope the great man is smiling on our venture. But just to be sure (not that we’re superstitious), we say a toast to the great man on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 13th and 21st days of every month.
With bottled spring water, of course, since responsibility is our watchword.
But because it’s equally important to keep the staff loose and creative, we break out the Pisa Liqueur every 34th day.
